Frantic assembly

Coleg Cambria welcomed one of Britain’s most celebrated and accomplished theatre companies, Frantic Assembly, to its Yale site this week.

Frantic Assembly, celebrated at home and abroad for creating thrilling, energetic and unforgettable theatre, held a taster session for young men aged 16-20 at the college’s Yale site.

Over 30 students from the college, along with members of the local dance development organisation NEW Dance, and participants from further afield enjoyed a two hour taster session as part of the company’s Ignition programme. The annual programme includes Taster workshops and Trial auditions across the UK leading towards an accredited five day Intensive Residency in London for 12 young people aiming to develop new ways of increasing young men’s involvement in the arts.

Jamie Jenkins, Dance tutor at Coleg Cambria said:

“The workshop taster was such a great opportunity for our students – it was well paced, lively, accessible, informative and fun. The students really enjoyed themselves, even the ones for whom working in this style was outside their normal comfort zone”.

“It was such a great experience”, added Performing Arts student Carl Jones, “probably the most absorbing and exciting workshop I have ever been part of, I can’t wait for the trial!”

The Trial will be held at the college on September 29th – further information can be found at
